Manly's dominant win soured as Brandon Wakeham facing one-game ban for high shot
Manly's dominant win over reigning premiers Brisbane has come at a cost, with hooker Brandon Wakeham set for a stint on the sidelines.
Wakeham was sin binned late in the first half on Saturday night after racing out of the line and collecting Broncos prop Ben Talty with a high shot.
The 27-year-old was called out alongside Sea Eagles captain Jake Trbojevic and given his marching orders.

"He leaves the ground, he made direct contact and there's a high level of carelessness there," referee Gerard Sutton said.

Greg Alexander admitted on Fox League commentary it "doesn't take much to get it wrong" as Wakeham ran off the field and replays showed the force of his contact.
The NRL's match review committee have charged Wakeham with a grade two careless high tackle, resulting in a one-game ban with an early guilty plea.

If he fights the charge and loses, Wakeham will be rubbed out for two matches.
Wakeham was the only player from Saturday's games facing suspension, with Sharks prop Tom Hazelton set to escape with a fine for his high tackle on Cameron Murray.
