Bulldogs hooker Reed Mahoney will move to Townsville next season, inking a long-term deal to join the Cowboys from 2026.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Mahoney will play out the 2025 season in blue and white, having been released from the final year of his contract.

Mahoney will replace the Roosters-bound Reece Robson, who in turn is a replacement for Brandon Smith, who has joined the Rabbitohs.

In the Bulldogs' loss to the Broncos on Friday night, coach Cameron Ciraldo reshuffled his backline to bring Galvin into the starting side. Matt Burton was moved into the centres, which pushed Enari Tuala onto the wing, and Blake Wilson to 18th man.
