'Way too early': Phil Gould left baffled as Wests Tigers proposed $5m Lachlan Galvin plan revealed
Phil Gould believes it is "way too early" for the Wests Tigers to be considering a monster deal for Lachlan Galvin as the club's reported future plans for the young star come to light.
Nine's Danny Weidler reports the Wests Tigers are considering tabling a five-year off to the Galvin that will be worth roughly $1 million per season in bid to lock in his future with the club.
Galvin is contracted with the Tigers until the end of 2027 and is likely to seek mass interest if he is to hit the open market come November 1.

"The Tigers aren't going to muck around," Weidler said on Nine's 100% Footy.
"The Tigers are going to have a pretty good crack at him and I think they are going to make that crack soon.
"They are going straight to six-figures for Lachlan Galvin. They aren't going to confirm (the reports as of yet) but that is what I am hearing."

The 19-year-old's impressive debut season has seen him earn the support of league pundits as he continues to star alongside Jarome Luai with the Tigers.
With the league beginning to see monster multi-million dollar signings offered to experienced stars, Gould fears Galvin's talent may be attracting such deals too soon in his career.
"It's brilliant money (but) it puts a lot of pressure and scrutiny on him," Gould said.
"He probably shouldn't be on that money at that age, there is no reason to do that to a young kid. Neither the club or his manager will allow that to happen.
"They aren't going to allow him to come through the system as he should. It is too much scrutiny.
"Money comes with responsibilities, obligations and expectations - you want to throw it on a kid that young?
"Go and ask all the great playmakers, they didn't want it at that age."

The Canterbury general manager declared it would be a "tragedy" if Galvin were to lose his place at the Tigers and called for the club to find a way to ensure they maintain his signature.
"It's way too early to be talking about Lachlan Galvin," he continued.
"He needs to stay at the Tigers. The Tigers need to come up with something to keep him there.
"I hope he stays at the Wests Tigers, I really do (because) it would be a tragedy for him to lose that place."
Several teams have the salary cap space to make room to become the potential landing sight for Galvin if he were to move on from the Tigers - but the Roosters will not be one of them.
According to Weidler, the Tri-colours will not be making a play at Galvin if he is to enter the open market as the club "refuses" to deal with the teenager's manager Isaac Moses.
The Tigers are reportedly aware of the Roosters stance on Galvin.
