'He's putting the boots on': Storm's injury crisis exposed by Cameron Munster's funny Bellamy quip

Cameron Munster joked coach Craig Bellamy could lace up for the Storm's Magic Round clash with the Raiders as the club's injury crisis deepens.

Young speedster Sua Faalogo will be missing from Suncorp Stadium after copping a brutal high shot from Latrell Mitchell in the Storm's 24-16 Anzac Day win over the Rabbitohs.

He'll be watching from the stands next to fellow outside backs Will Warbrick (concussion), Jack Howarth (shoulder), Dean Ieremia (achilles) and Moses Leo (shoulder).

"He's putting the boots on ... have him on the wing," Munster said of his coach speaking to media on Friday night.

"Don't think I'll be much of a winger," Bellamy said with a laugh.

Bellamy made 150 appearances for the Raiders in the 80s and early 90s, playing mostly from the bench and rotating through the centres and halves on occasion.

On Saturday morning, Mitchell was hit with a grade two dangerous contact charge. He'll miss two games if he fights the charge at the judiciary and loses.

Faalogo's 2025 has been hampered by a niggling hamstring injury. This was his first appearance for the season, having played 14 matches in 2023.

But he wasted no time reminding his coach of his brilliance, producing 13 runs for 156m before his night was ended in the 51st minute.

The Storm's shocking injury run has Bellamy at a loss.

"I'm not quite sure (why) we've had these run of injuries with our outside backs and I don't think there will be many of them coming back any time soon," he said.

"We're struggling a little bit there and this certainly isn't going to help with Sua not playing next week.

"It is what it is, so we've got to make sure we move on and it gives someone else a chance."
