Melbourne's dominant 30-6 win over the Sharks has been cruelled by an injury blow to Sualauvi Fa'alogo after the winger dropped in agony during the second half.

With two minutes left in the match, Fa'alogo tried to beat the Sharks defence on the outside in his own half.

Fa'alogo was ankle tapped by Addin Fonua-Blake and then fell to the ground after a few more strides, clutching at his hamstring.

"That is a disaster," caller Warren Smith said on Fox League.

In the following set, the Storm scored through Trent Loiero to put the finishing touches on the victory.

Fa'alogo was then seen being assisted off the field by medical staff.

Post-match, Craig Bellamy was unsure of the severity.

"It didn't look good when it happened, didn't look good when he came off. He was singing the team song in there ... so I'm not quite sure how bad it is. We're hoping it's a cramp but it looked a little bit worse than that," he said.

Earlier, the Storm scored first through Eli Katoa after a smart ball from Jahrome Hughes.

Then in the 23rd minute, the Sharks looked like they'd be over through Ronaldo Mulitalo but it was butchered with Siosifa Talakai's pass going behind the body of the winger.

Ryan Papenhuyzen then taunted his rival after the miss.

Fa'alogo scored the second moments after before the Sharks hit back through Braydon Trindall.

Right on half time, Briton Nikora was also put on report for a late shot on Cameron Munster.

During the second half, it was all the Storm with Papenhuyzen kicking a penalty goal while Nick Meaney, Jahrome Hughes and Loiero all crossed the line.

Next week, the Storm head to Townsville to play the Cowboys. Cronulla has the bye.
