Dragons prop Emre Guler has been slapped with a huge suspension for a crusher tackle in his side's upset win over the Storm.

The front-rower, who has played in all three of St George Illawarra's games since joining the club in the off-season, was placed on report in the first half of Saturday's clash.

Melbourne forward Shawn Blore took a carry from inside his own half and backed into contact, with Guler coming down with force on the back of his neck.

Jaydn Su'A was also involved in the tackle, but was cleared of any wrongdoing.

The 27-year-old has since been charged by the NRL match review committee and hit with a grade one crusher tackle, which would usually result in a fine.

However, due to prior indiscretions, Guler will miss three matches with an early guilty plea and risks a month on the sidelines if he fights the charge and loses.

Guler's ban will sour what was an incredible afternoon for the Dragons, who put to bed a fortnight of criticism and got their 2025 campaign underway against one of the genuine premiership heavyweights at Kogarah Oval.

Hame Sele's looming return from a calf injury could help Shane Flanagan fill the void, while experienced prop Blake Lawrie played reserve grade and could return.
