With two attacking sides pitted against each other, the Queensland derby between the Dolphins and Titans promised tries, and it delivered, as finished 36-30 winners.

"We knew it'd be [an] all-out attack and it was, a really exciting game and it could've gone either way," Andrew Johns said on Nine.

The victory keeps the Dolphins in with a slim chance of playing finals. Kristian Woolf's men are currently two points behind the Roosters in ninth. The Dolphins have a superior differential of 15 points.

Next week, the Roosters play the Rabbitohs while the Dolphins are up against the Raiders, who could rest several players with the minor premiership sewn up.

At Suncorp Stadium, the Dolphins were out to a fast 18-0 lead inside 11 minutes with tries to Trai Fuller, Tevita Naufahu and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.

However, by half-time it was 18-18 with Brian Kelly, Jaylan De Groot and Kieran Foran all crossing for the Titans.

Once again, it was an electric opening 10 minutes after the break from the Dolphins. Naufahu went over for his double while Isaiya Katoa also scored.

AJ Brimson's try in the 60th minute made it interesting at 30-24.

Kodi Nikorima appeared to put the result beyond doubt, though when he scored but a Jayden Campbell try and conversion moved the score to 36-30 with only minutes left.
