AJ Brimson will makes his international debut for England as one of six NRL players picked for the Ashes series against Kangaroos.

The 24-man England squad will play the three Test series starting on October 25 at Wembley Stadium.

The former Maroons representative changed his international eligibility from Australia to England earlier this year to represent his mother's English heritage.

Brimson had already represented Australia at the 2019 World Cup 9s but as that was ruled as a one off tournament, his request was granted.

"I always thought it would be great if I could get the chance to represent both sides of the family because I am very proud of my English heritage as well," Brimson told NRL.com

"It is something I've wanted to do for a while, play for England, so I will be putting my hand up to try to play for them this year and going forward.

Brimson joins the likes of Dom Young, Kai Pearce-Paul, Dolphins centre Herbie Farnworth, the Cowboys' John Bateman and Raiders forward Morgan Smithies in the squad.

Raiders halfback George Williams will captain the home team amid claims he's been linked with a return to the NRL in 2027.
