Roosters promote club legend Mitch Aubusson to new football operations boss
Three-time Roosters premiership winner Mitch Aubusson has been promoted by the club as its new rugby league director.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Aubusson has been elevated to the role to oversee the club's NRL, NRLW and junior sides.
The role was created to form a link between chair Nick Politis and NRL coach Trent Robinson. He will also oversee recruitment and retention.

The club are losing a stack of experience at seasons-end, with Joseph Manu and Joseph Suaalii both switching to the 15-man game, while veterans Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Luke Keary are both moving overseas to the Super League.

"First of all there aren't too many better people than Mitchell Aubusson – he's a role model in every aspect," Politis said.
"I can't remember him ever getting into any trouble, on or off the field. Of course, he will gain some valuable experience in the role, but he understands the game so well and has a great feel for what makes a good player.

"He's done an excellent job running the club's academy and has been with the club since he was a teenager. He deserves it."
Aubusson played 306 games for the tri colours, and is the club's second most-capped player behind only Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.
Aubusson retired at the end of 2020.
