Titans can't do it for milestone man Kieran Foran as Dragons keep their finals hopes alive

The Dragons have spoilt Titans halfback Kieran Foran's 300th first-grade game, defeating his side 32-16 at WIN Stadium in Wollongong.

Foran became the 53rd player in the game's history to bring up the milestone and was in the thick of the action, but won't have much to celebrate in the sheds.

With the Bulldogs defeating the Dolphins on Saturday, the win sees the Dragons leapfrog the Redcliffe side to slide into the league's top eight.

With a double from winger Jojo Fifita, the Titans threatened to mount a second-half comeback but the Dragons held strong.

Having conceded the first try after the Titans scored off their first touch of the match, the Dragons proceeded to pile on five unanswered.

Titans fullback Keano Kini collected the kick-off 10 metres from Gold Coast's line before a missed tackle allowed him to race 50 metres downfield.

Kini then offloaded to Fifita who streamed over next to the posts to score the opening try.

However, the Dragons soon responded, carrying the ball down the opposite end of the field before a no-look pass from Tyrell Sloan set Christian Tuipulotu up in the corner.

After a dangerous start from the Titans, the Red V found their flow as Ben Hunt threw a dummy before charging over.

Hunt then followed up with a try assist — setting up Zac Lomax.

Toby Couchman and Luciano Leilua added to the Dragons' tally to give the side a 26-6 lead at the main break. The tally also doubled as the Saints' highest-scoring first half in two years.

Having been quiet early, Jayden Campbell showed his footy instinct when he couldn't hang onto a high pass from Foran.

Campbell nudged the ball forward and kicked a grubber before chasing down his kick to score.

Jack de Belin was placed on report and sent to the sin bin for a shoulder charge on Foran.

The Titans needed to come up with a try with the Dragons reduced to 11 men but were unable to create an opportunity.

Dragons prop Francis Molo then sealed the result with a try in the 76th minute.

If the Dragons win their three remaining games against the Sharks, Eels and Raiders, they will feature in the finals for the first time since 2018.

While the loss on Sunday ends the Titans' hope of a finals berth.
