Josh Addo-Carr issued show cause notice, set to be sacked by Bulldogs

Josh Addo-Carr is expected to be sacked by the Bulldogs after the flashy winger was issued a show cause notice to front the board next week.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports the club has moved to terminate 29-year-old's contract, but will give him one final chance to save his own career in front of the board.
The move comes in the wake of a drug driving incident in the week leading up to the club's drought-breaking finals match against the Sea Eagles.

Addo-Carr tested positive to cocaine after being pulled over by police and was subsequently fined $682. He was later banned for four matches by the NRL and fined $15,000.
He will face the board next Thursday to explain why he shouldn't be sacked for allegedly misleading officials and bringing the club into disrepute.

The Bulldogs gave him and his management six weeks to sign a contract at another club, which hasn't happened.
Addo-Carr vehemently denied he'd taken cocaine, and went so far as to undergo an independent test in an effort to clear his name. That test returned a negative reading before the secondary police test came back positive.
Addo-Carr had been linked to the Dragons, although officials there have put those efforts on ice to focus on securing Clint Gutherson's signature.
He's played 52 matches for the Bulldogs since arriving at Belmore for the 2022 season on a deal worth about $500,000 a year.
