'I'm not talking about recruitment': Ivan Cleary refuses to discuss reported pursuit of Blaize and Ryda Talagi

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has refused to discuss reports he held a meeting with Eels prodigy Blaize Talagi's brother Ryda and manager Isaac Moses.

The younger brother, a front rower, could become part of a package deal for clubs as interest intensifies into Blaize.

On Nine's 100% Footy on Monday night, 9News and The Sydney Morning Herald reporter Michael Chammas revealed there was an "unconfirmed sighting" of Ryda and Moses leaving Cleary's house.

Speaking to media on Tuesday, Cleary was asked about the supposed meeting but point blank refused to discuss it.

"I'm not going to discuss recruitment today," he said at the announcement of the third annual 'Royce's Big Walk'.

When the question moved to what sort of player Ryda is, Cleary's response remained similar.

"Is that recruitment? This is about Royce today, I'm not talking about recruitment."

While questions around Talagi became the focus at the end of the press conference, the majority of it revolved around the Royce Simmons Foundation and the Panthers legend's support for dementia research.

The first two walks involved Simmons walking around country NSW areas before ending at Penrith.

This year he'll move across the NRL clubs, starting at the Eels' headquarters before moving on to Wests Tigers, Manly, the Roosters, South Sydney, Dragons, Sharks, Bulldogs before finishing at BlueBet Stadium on August 15.
