The Bulldogs may have picked up a bargain buy replacement for sacked winger Josh Addo-Carr in Knights flyer Enari Tuala.

Tuala has agreed to a two-year deal with the Dogs - on considerably less cash than Addo-Carr's former contract, estimated to be worth around $500,000.

Addo-Carr parted ways with the club late last week after testing positive to cocaine during a traffic stop.

Tuala is a proven try-scorer who twice topped the Knights' tryscoring chart in his five seasons at the club.

The 26-year-old Cowboys junior, who played three years with the club before moving to the Knights, has the added bonus of being able to play both wing and centre.

Tuala, a former Junior Kangaroo, was expected to sign a new deal with the Knights before the Bulldogs swooped.

With both centre Jeral Skelton and Addo-Carr leaving Canterbury, the opportunity is there for Tuala to grab a regular backline spot.

But the Bulldogs do have two talented wingers in Blake Wilson and Warriors recruit Marcelo Montoya, and competition for spots will be tight in the trials.

Addo-Carr's management, meanwhile, will hold talks with several Sydney clubs in the coming days in a bid to find the tryscoring ace a new home for 2025.
