Rugby League Players' Association reportedly calls off protests planned for Friday night
Players have reportedly backed down on threats to delay kick-off times and cover NRL logos during Friday's trial matches.
It comes as the Sydney Morning Herald reports "significant progress" has been made in negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement.
NRL boss Andrew Abdo met on Thursday night with Rugby League Players' Association (RLPA) boss Clint Newtown in an attempt to end the impasse.

There's two matches set down for Friday night, with the Sharks to play Newcastle and Manly facing Souths, while the All-Stars game will be held in Rotorua on Saturday.
The RLPA had originally set a deadline of Thursday for the resolution of a number of non-financial aspects of the proposed agreement, a timeframe that then slipped to Friday lunchtime.
But in the wake of Thursday's progress, the SMH reports it's "unlikely" any action will be taken during Friday night's matches.

On Wednesday, Penrith's Isaah Yeo said strike action remained a possibility.
"I feel like we've given them a chance now. If we have to take more action as a group then we'll do that," he said.
"If things keep breaking down like they are and we don't get resolutions, (boycotting games) is obviously the absolute extreme.
"It's something the players don't want to get to. We all want to play football.
"I'm sure it will all be sorted out before then."
