Mason recorded delivering funny sledge
Newcastle prop Willie Mason has been recorded delivering a hilarious sledge to his opposite numbers at the Dragons, players that could potentially be his teammates next season.
The Dragons are reportedly interested in signing Mason - who is keen to play on again next year but has not been offered a contract by the Knights - and the 34-year-old took full advantage of playing against what could be his new club.
The microphones for Fox Sports’ show Sterlo picked up Mason sledging the Dragons forwards durng last weekend’s round 36 clash.
“F***, you need some front-rowers, you cats,” he says.
“You need some decent front-rowers. Speak to Mary (Dragons coach Paul McGregor),” Mason continues as the players prepare for a scrum.
“Eh, where? Where are they?” he responds to a St George Illawarra player who presumably defended the Dragons’ props.
“I can’t see s***,” he adds.
Even referee David Munro can be seen laughing at the one-sided exchange.
It was not only with his mouth that Mason impressed, the 34-year-old made 117m with 13 carries and 17 tackles as the Knights smashed the Dragons, 40-10.
