Manly trio's season could be over

Manly utility Dylan Walker's NRL season is likely over due to a shoulder injury and his teammates Tom Trbojevic and Jorge Taufua could join him, Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett says.

Walker suffered a dislocated shoulder in the first half of Manly's round 23 loss to Canterbury on Thursday night that ended the Sea Eagles' season.

It has rounded out a dismal 10 months for the South Sydney premiership winner, who suffered a prescription drug overdose in September.

Walker drew plenty of criticism over his lacklustre performances from NSW's bench in State of Origin I and II and an off-field incident last month, in which he suffered a hand injury and was out for three weeks, only made things worse.

"That is probably it for him," Barrett said of Walker.

"It has been tough for him, but it is all a learning curve and he will come back stronger from it."

Trbojevic has been carrying an ankle injury that requires surgery, which he may undergo now that Manly's season is over.

"We will assess that now we can't make the finals," Barrett said

"There is no point risking blokes now. But we won't be throwing it away, we still have three games to go."

Taufua is suffering complications from shoulder surgery that also requires him to go under the knife again.
