Manly ask Murrihy for help

Desperate to solve the club's match-fixing allegations, Manly have began talks to hire ex-NSW chief racing steward Ray Murrihy as a consultant for the NRL club.
Manly chairman Scott Penn has confirmed the talks, and said he wanted Murrihy to look at the club's processes and code of conduct after it emerged two of their losses from the 2015 season were under the eye of the organised crime squad for alleged match fixing.
"If Ray was to find additional areas of concern, on top of what we believe is an adequate existing code, we would be very happy to look at changes," Penn told News Corp Australia.
The Sea Eagles are concerned that police could take up to two years to look into the matter, and will ask Murrihy to complete his work without hindering any official investigations.
Murrihy has worked in racing for 21 years before retiring this month, and previously assisted the NRL's investigation into Ryan Tandy's match-fixing in 2010.
"Money is ploughed into integrity in racing but the sports betting phenomenon came late to other sports like league and that is where I believe I can help," Murrihy said.
