Manly hunt Myles, Lussick to keep DCE

Manly are gunning for two of Daly Cherry-Evans close mates - Nate Myles and Darcy Lussick - as the club ups the ante in its bid to keep the star halfback.

The Sea Eagles remain desperate to entice Cherry-Evans' to renege on his move to the Gold Coast Titans before the June 13 deadline and see the recruitment of Myles and Lussick as the carrot to seal the deal.

Myles appears unlikely to remain with the Titans after the club failed to take up an extension on his contract, while Parramatta's Lussick is close to returning to Brookvale, according to a News Limited report.

Myles was a key part of the Titans snaring Cherry-Evans and could prove the lynchpin in him backflipping on his deal should the Sea Eagles snare the veteran forward.

Cherry-Evans signed a four-year $5 million contract to join the Gold Coast from 2016 and has until June 13 to turn his back on the deal.

The 26-year-old has been under intense scrutiny since Channel Nine revealed last month that he was considering staying at Manly and was forced to front a media conference where he insisted "nothing has changed" with his future.

The Titans are adamant he will honour his deal, but Manly has not given up hope with CEO Joe Kelly working furiously to put together a deal and satisfy the premiership winning international's hopes for the future.

A key part would be to bolster the Manly pack, which would be achieved with the recruitment of Myles and Lussick.

Parramatta are reportedly resigned to losing Lussick, who played with Cherry Evans in the Sea Eagles Under 20s side as well as the NRL in 2011-12.

Myles has also spoken of the likelihood he will leave the Titans, despite the club indicating it was keen to retain him.

The veteran Test forward is being chased by several clubs, including Penrith, and reportedly stands to lose around $200,000 a year is he stays on the Gold Coast.
