Star centre Latrell Mitchell has ended his feud with Blues coach Brad Fittler.

The two have not spoken since Fittler dropped the Roosters centre during this year's State of Origin series.

Mitchell threw flames on the fire in a recent interview on the NRL's website, claiming Fittler never told him why he had been dropped. He also raised the spectre of racism after the Indigenous players in the Blues team did not sing the national anthem.

Some of Mitchell's quotes were subsequently 'pulled' from the story when the NRL got involved.

The interview prompted an angry response from Fittler, who hotly denied the racism slurs.

But the feud officially ended yesterday when Mitchell called Fittler and the pair sorted out their differences.

It was a massive step for Mitchell, given the history between the two in recent days.

It also puts Mitchell back in contention for the Blues next season - if his form warrants it.

There were suggestions that Fittler would never pick the troubled star again in the wake of the feud.

But 'Freddy' is an easy-going character and was happy to sort out the issue with Mitchell.

Meanwhile, Mitchell's future remains under a cloud after he met with Roosters officials earlier this week.

He may still play at the Roosters in 2020 to complete his contract, but beyond that, it is anyone's guess.
