'Deafening noise': Canberra's famous Viking clap 'drowned out' by boisterous Warriors fans

NFL star Tyler Manoa was on deck to blow Canberra's Viking horn in Las Vegas - but the pre-game tradition was 'drowned out' by boisterous Warriors fans.

In front of a packed house at Allegiant Stadium, the imposing defensive tackle from the Las Vegas Raiders was bestowed the honour of leading the fans in the Viking clap.

The 25-year-old was decked out in Raiders merchandise and looked right at home leading the crowd, gesturing to them to up their energy before kick off.

While it was certainly a special occasion for Manoa and the club, the Kiwi fans had other ideas when it came to setting the stage.

Perhaps the best represented of the four NRL clubs in Vegas, the Warriors supporters led a thunderous chant while Manoa was leading the Raiders out onto the field.

The club had initially sounded out Dana White to lead the pre-game festivities, but the UFC boss was out of town for the four-game rugby league extravaganza.

NFL coach Pete Carroll was also rumoured to be involved, but that plan never got off the ground and it was Manoa who represented the American code.
