Ex-Shark Carney seeks $2.35m in damages

Cronulla will reportedly detail a list of Todd Carney misdemeanours to stop their former playmaker successfully suing the NRL club for almost $2.4 million for wrongful dismissal.

With the case returning on Friday to the NSW Supreme Court, Carney is pursuing the full amount of his Sharks' contract, plus interest and relocation fees, minus the $740,000 deal he is on at Super League club Catalans, according to Fairfax Media.

Carney's claim centres on the fact then-CEO Steve Noyce sacked him via a phone call, without giving him the opportunity to front the Cronulla board to give his version of events when a photo of the infamous `bubbler' incident went viral on social media.

However, the Sharks argue Carney breached the NRL's code of conduct in damaging his reputation with the act.

The Sharks will argue he also ignored a warning about his behaviour in a letter written by Noyce in May 2014, just one month before he was eventually sacked.
