The dramas continue at the Dragons, with chief executive Brian Johnston set to quit the club.

Just a week after he announced the results of Phil Gould's sweeping review that saw eight staff moved on, Johnston himself has decided to leave the Dragons.

But sources have told Wide World of Sports the decision was Johnston's alone - he jumped and was not pushed.

WWOS attempted to contact Johnston for comment but he could not be reached.

A former Dragons star of the 1980s who played over 150 games for the club, Johnston served as club chairman before being appointed chief executive only a little over a year ago.

A well respected and popular administrator, Johnston will be hard to replace but is expected to remain in his post for several more months until the club finds a replacement.
