The Dolphins have confirmed their second signing for their debut season in 2023, announcing that Parramatta hooker Ray Stone will join the club.

He becomes their second NRL signing, following the announcement of Storm forward Felise Kaufusi.

"We need to build some depth to the squad we will ultimately enter the competition with, and Ray is just the type of player we are looking for," said Dolphins CEO Terry Reader.

"He is one of the most feared defenders in the NRL and when we sat down to talk about recruitment, Ray Stone was one of the first players that Wayne Bennett spoke about."

Stone will be signed until the end of the 2024 season.

The move is another blow for the Eels' depth at the position, after losing starting number nine Reed Mahoney to the Bulldogs.

With Mahoney injured, Stone stepped into the breach in the finals, filling it admirably in Parramatta's win over Newcastle and their narrow defeat to the Panthers.
