Andrew Johns finds homes for seven uncontracted NRL players for 2020

Immortal Andrew Johns has given his verdict on where seven uncontracted NRL players should play next season.

Johns said that temporary Brisbane hooker James Segeyaro would be a good fit for a depleted Wests Tigers and touted Manly five-eighth Dylan Walker as Nathan Cleary's new halves partner at Penrith.

Joey also found a new home for Melbourne's Queensland State of Origin forward Christian Welch and unwanted Warriors hero Issac Luke.

JORDAN RAPANA

"Anywhere, because he's such a strong dummy-half runner.

"Nowadays, wingers are as important as front-rowers to get your team rolling forward. Think Blake Ferguson, think Maika Sivo, these sort of players; big wingers who can roll forward.

"Rapana, he's in that mould, so anywhere would suit him."

**Note: The Canberra Raiders have offered Rapana a new contract, but he has been linked with a far larger deal in Japanese rugby.

JAMES SEGEYARO

"I think the Tigers.

"Robbie Farah's retired, Jacob Liddle did his ACL late in the season, so he won't be back until mid-year.

"An experience dummy-half, Segeyaro, I think the Tigers would be a great fit."

KURT CAPEWELL

"Newcastle would be a great position for Kurt.

"I think Newcastle needs a strike back-rower and he can play either side. He's got really good footwork, he's not just a cardboard cutout who runs that same line as most back-rowers.

"He's got a bit of skill, he used to play in the outside backs, so I think Newcastle would be a great fit."

DYLAN WALKER

"I think he'll stay at Manly and he works well with Daly Cherry-Evans, because Daly is an on-the-ball halfback and he (Walker) is a running five-eighth.

"If he didn't sign with Manly, I think Penrith would be a great fit with Nathan Cleary, with Nathan playing on the ball and him being the running five-eighth."

CHRISTIAN WELCH

"The Warriors, without a doubt.

"He's that worker in the pack, which the Warriors lack. The guy that cleans up everywhere, cleans up the missed tackles around the ruck.

"The Warriors would be a great fit for Christian."

MICHAEL JENNINGS

"I think he stays (at the Eels).

"I think the style of play that Parramatta use, where they use the ball, he gets a lot of early ball. He's got a great combination out there with (Maika) Sivo, so he should stay at Parra."

ISSAC LUKE

"I think the Titans would be a great fit there.

"A bit of experience around the middle of the field, a bit of leadership. He's been around, he won a grand final with the Rabbitohs (albeit suspended for the game).

"They have Nathan Peats there, who's a strong defender but doesn't really offer much speed out of dummy-half, so I think Issac Luke would be good at the Titans."
