Neo-nazis stop mountain bike race

A professional urban mountain bike rider has endured a scare in Slovakia after coming face-to-face with protesting neo-nazis.

Brazilian rider Bernardo Cruz was midway through a death-defying but spectacular run through the streets of Bratislava for the City Downhill World Tour when he was forced to quickly slam on the brakes.

A group of around 300 neo-nazis, many wearing hoods and masks, were blocking his path as they rampaged through the city protesting against immigration.

Caught on the Brazilian's helmet-mounted camera, the group of protestors break off and swarm around him as they head up the course.

One neo-nazi attacked a cameraman while it was reported another group started a fire within the city.

The race was halted while police tried to quell the violence.
