Naked footballer stuns morning viewers

Morning television viewers were treated to an exhibition of the problems facing a live cross when Jarryd Hayne's first press conference as a San Francisco 49er was overtaken by a naked team-mate.

The gaffe occurred when Channel Seven's US correspondent Angela Cox hung around to interview some of the former Parramatta Eels' new teammates.

But while talking to one player, her camera assistant uncovered the bare facts of life in the club's locker room when they unintentionally filmed a naked player in the background.

The unidentified player, bare bum and all, can be seen in a corner of the change rooms before the camera zooms in on him pulling up his underwear.

As an embarrassed Cox later said, Australia was treated to "a little more than we bargained for."

"Another player was standing completely naked in the background for the entire interview," Cox told Sunrise hosts Samantha Armytage and Andrew O'Keefe. "I have to be honest – I didn't notice until we watched the interview back. I swear."

"I need to pay more attention when I'm in the locker room, clearly.

"But a good day in the office, I'm not going to complain."
