Congratulations to Scott McLaughlin and Alexandre Premat!
Let the party start for Ford!
Scott McLaughlin just wants to get the party started!
On the podium with Premat, the Kiwi is grinning ear to ear. His first Bathurst 1000 victory was a memorable one!
"So glad to do it for Ford, yeh!" McLaughlin said.
"I just threw it in over the top [of the mountain] and thankfully she held on.
"I've had plenty of bad ones where I've gone off the track so I'm really stoked we got it done."
Then as McLaughlin eggs on the crowd to chants of 'Frenchy', Premat addresses the crowd.
"I think it's good being the first French person to be winning!" McLaughlin's teammate said.
'I wont the bloody Bathurst 1000!'
Scott McLaughlin over the moon - understandably - with his nerve-wracking Bathurst 1000 victory!
"I can't believe I won the bloody Bathurst 1000," McLaughlin said post-race.
"We had such a good car all week. I put so much pressure on myself and our team to make this race a good one. We've made a bloody good car.
"I've dreamt about standing on the roof."
His teammate Alex Premat said he was nervous watching from the pit.
"That was so stressful," Premat said.
"That was insane. That was crazy. I'm so happy!"
Penske 'proud' of McLaughlin
"Just amazing. I can't believe how it ended up. What a drive Scotty did," DJR Team Penske owner Roger Penske.
"I'm so proud of everyone. It's just a big race, just like Indianapolis in the US.
"I just can't believe what's going on here. It's so exciting."
