Miracle escape for motocross rider

Here's a reason why it's not a great idea to go hurtling across sand dunes on a motorbike with no idea what's looming over the horizon.

A group of motocross riders were enjoying themselves with a ride through the Qatar Dunes when a lack of communication almost proved costly.

Approaching the top of one dune at breakneck speeds, they leap high into the air with one rider heading straight into the path of a jeep travelling in another direction.

With nowhere to go, he lands straight on top of the jeep's bonnet before abusing the driver and giving him the middle-finger salute.

He returns to tell his friends of his narrow escape, with a subsequent shot of the damage to the vehicle's bonnet showing just how lucky he was.
