Evading a round-house kick to the head is one thing, but doing it by channelling scenes from The Matrix is something else.

In a Muay Thai fight in Phuket, Rafael Fiziev turned on an amazing display of flexibility and timing to avoid a full-blooded kick from his Thai opponent Sawgraw.

Kicks are avoided all the time, but the manner in which the man from Kyrgyzstan was able to get his torso parallel to the ground and then return to an upright position so quickly defies belief.

His evasive skills weren’t enough to get Fiziev the win over Sawgraw but at least he saved himself from a vicious right foot.

Despite Fiziev’s impressive impersonation of Neo and his ability to contort his body in The Matrix, the movie’s star Neo’s reputation is safe for now as we don’t expect this Muay Thai fighter to be able to stop bullets anytime soon.
