Mark Hunt might not have tasted victory in over a year but the "Super Samoan" more than made up for that with a victory over Derrick "The Black Beast" Lewis in front of his hometown crowd at UFC Fight Night 110.

The 43-year-old heavyweight headed into the bout as the clear underdog but he overcame a shaky start to score a TKO win after landing a series of punches on an exhausted Lewis in the fourth round, prompting the referee to stop the fight.

"I know Derrick Lewis is from the hood, but this is my hood," Hunt said.

"To walk (into the octagon) in my country of birth is pretty amazing. I lived here in New Zealand for 21 years and 22 years in Australia - it was a surreal feeling, better than drugs."

Lewis, 32, headed into the fight on the back of six straight win but he said after the fight that he had aggravated a back problem. He also said that this could be his last time inside the octagon.

"That’s probably my last fight," Lewis said. "I’m getting married next week — I don’t want to put my family through all this."
