Rising Canadian ice hockey prospect Max Domi has underlined his potential after scoring with an audacious alley-oop pass to himself.

The 19-year-old - who caught the eye in Canada's World Junior Championship victory earlier this month - was playing for the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League when he scored the incredible breakaway goal.

With opposing goalie Taylor Dupuis coming out of the net to cut out the attack, Domi coolly flipped the puck over the goaltender's head before skating around him, collecting the puck in mid-air and guiding it into the back of the empty net.

"I just saw it there and thought, 'I might as well try it,'" said Domi, who was selected with the 12th overall pick by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. "Luckily, it got over his head and landed on my stick. It was pretty lucky, I guess, but I'll take it."

After being embarrassed by Domi, goaltender Dupuis took to Twitter to suggest he buy him a beer to compensate.

@max_domi The least you can do is buy me a beer..

Domi, meanwhile, looks set for a bright future in the NHL.
