'I think we've got a sponsor for next year': Peter V'landys' hilarious response after Everest barrier draw circus
The barrier draw for The Everest was a circus act.
That's not a criticism, it's fact.
To anyone who drove past Royal Randwick over the past week, the circus set-up was there to see.

When The Everest barrier draw was underway on Tuesday it was clear to see why.
There was one person shot out of a cannon. Motorbikes in a cage and plenty more.
"I just don't want to catch anybody," Private Eye slot holder Max Whitby said when asked about the show on Sky Thoroughbred Central.
When Joliestar's barrier was drawn, it was done via an act titled the wheel of death. Joliestar landed with barrier 4 as a result.
The horse's owner Brendan Lindsay was in awe.
"There's nothing like this in New Zealand ... we don't do barrier draws like this," he laughed.
Racing NSW boss Peter V'landys was in a sarcastic mood after the proceedings ended.
"Bit boring," he described the event with a smile.
"I think we could've done better, don't you?
"I think we've got a sponsor for next year, Sorbent toilet paper, I don't know about the rest of us, there was a couple of acts here I was concerned about."
The Everest - the richest race on turf in the world - will run at Randwick on Saturday.
