Guest House wins soggy Golden Slipper after late charge at Rosehill Gardens
Zac Lloyd on Guest House has won a wet Golden Slipper with a perfectly-timed run down the inside.
Light rain was falling on Rosehill Gardens as the field jumped in the 1200m race, with Guest House settling into the mid-pack around the turn.
But as the field entered the straight and fanned out, Lloyd forced space and hit the lead with 100m to run and won by a length and a half over Streisand and Music Time.

Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr, it's the first time in 15 years a Victorian-trained horse had won the Slipper.
"What a horse - he's had three runs where nothing went right, and with a good speed on he finally relaxed," Kent said on Seven.
"It's so right for Mick. He's had so many close calls in this race."
Assistant trainer Ben Elam was almost speechless.

"The Slipper. This is the pinnacle. What can I say?
"He's taken a bit of work. Through Christmas he was a bit of a lad, he went down to Melbourne, Melbourne staff did a terrific job with him and he came up here in tip-top shape.
"He's been an absolute gentleman up here".
