Holm out to shock Rousey and the world

Holly Holm has been branded fake by Ronda Rousey but she says she can "shock the world" at UFC193 at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

After all, she has done it before.

Wind back the clock to 2011 and Frenchwoman Sophie Ann Mathis knocked Holm out cold in a bout for the vacant IBA female boxing title.

After being beaten badly, Holm went into rematch as a huge underdog but won via a unanimous decision.

Holm says the bout with Rousey inside the octagon is easily bigger.

She expects Rousey to come at her hard with Saturday's scuffle at the weigh-in shaping as a a precursor.

"This is my biggest fight," Holm said.

"I expect (Rousey to come hard) ... and if she comes hard, we are ready."

Holm says many fall into the trap of thinking they have one way of beating Rousey. Holm, best known as a striker, believes she has several strings to her bow.

"I visualise the bout and I visualise the victory and that's as far as my visualising goes," she said.

"So far nobody has been ready to be in there before with Ronda. But this is a different fight.

"A fight is never mapped out and I think that's why a lot of times fighters get in there and are like a deer in headlights. You get in there and plan your fight but it's not that easy, that simple or that smooth.

"It's like a hurricane and trying to make sense of a big mess and you have to be OK with that."
