Hayne shows Kaepernick who's boss

San Francisco 49ers import Jarryd Hayne may be the novice on the NFL field, but his new teammates are quickly learning he's no pushover on the ping pong table.

In footage emerging out of the US, Hayne, who's battling to covert his NRL skills to the NFL, has no hesitation in taking on 49ers superstar quarterback Colin Kaepernick in a game of table tennis.

The teammates are filmed playing in the club's locker room during a 49ers minicamp, with Hayne clearly enjoying himself as Kaepernick's cracking forehands continually miss their mark.

And with the 49ers squad watching on, the former Eel claims a famous scalp with victory in the friendly game.

Kaepernick has been a big supporter of Hayne's, believing the 27-year-old had the skills to make a successful transition to the NFL.

"Phenomenal athlete," the quarterback said earlier this year.

"Just a natural.

"Since the day I met him, since every workout he's been at, he's going to give you everything he has.

"This is going to be a football player."

However, Hayne recently admitted he has a "lot more to improve" if he's to make the cut with the NFL franchise.

"Obviously my running style is the biggest thing I have to change, with being so high," he said.

"But we watched some video today of where I was to where I am now and it’s better, but there’s obviously still a lot more to improve."
