Hayne 'set to announce NFL deal'

Former NRL star Jarryd Hayne is set to announce that he has signed a deal with an NFL franchise this week.
The ex-Parramatta captain will hold a press conference in Sydney to confirm the contract with the Detroit Lions, the Daily Telegraph reports.
He will reportedly be signing a futures deal, which are used for development players that teams believe will be good enough for a spot on the 53-man active roster in future seasons.

Despite interest from the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks, Hayne chose the Detroit Lions because of the strong record of developing players.
Hayne’s team has also signed a deal with Telstra, who will document Hayne’s journey to the NFL.
