Greatest poker face won't crack for $15m win

Daniel Colman could have the greatest poker face in the world after the American sat stony faced while winning over $15 million as the Big One for One Drop champion.

The 23-year-old beat Daniel Negreanu in Las Vegas last month when his straight proved the best hand against the Canadian's two-pair.

But despite quintupling his career earnings with the mammoth payout, Colman’s emotionless reaction has now become a text-book lesson for all poker players.

In the footage, just aired by the broadcaster ESPN, chip leader Colman, holding king-queen offsuit, immediately calls when Negreanu goes all in with ace-four offsuit.

The flop puts Negreanu in the lead with his two-pair, but with an ace and jack on the table, Colman is still in a strong position with a broadway draw.

And when the turn and river cards fall 10 and seven of spades, Colman claims the biggest win of his career.

Not that would you know, however, Colman refusing to crack even the barest hint of a smile as the crowd erupts behind him.

Colman's previous best win was a $2.5 million victory at the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo earlier this year.

Colman, who came under fire for his refusal to give interviews during or after the tournament, later released a bizarre statement where he downplayed his profession as a “very dark game”.

“It bothers me that people care so much about poker’s well-being,” he wrote. “As poker is a game that has such a net negative effect on the people playing it. Both financially and emotionally.

“To have a job where you are at the mercy of variance can be insanely stressful and can lead to a lot of unhealthy habits. I would never in a million years recommend for someone to try and make it as a poker pro.”
