Golfer uses world’s biggest driver

Golfers are always looking for extra length off the tee.

But US trailblazer Michael Furrh has taken the wish a little further - teeing off with the world's biggest driver.

Furrh recently broke the Guiness World Record for the longest usable golf club after launching a tee shot with a driver measuring a 6.2m long.

Breaking his previous record where he used a 4.3m-long driver to belt the ball 81m, the Texan upped the ante at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Arlington this week.

And while he successfully swung and launched the ball with his monster graphite driver, it's hard to see the fad catching on any time soon.

The ball only carried 57m on his best shot, a distance more akin to a pitching wedge.

And then, of course, there's the issue of fitting the long driver into a golf bag.

But at least he's back in the record books.
