A one-armed toddler from the US is putting many adult golfers to shame with his inspiring swing.

Three-year-old prodigy Tommy Morrissey from Florida can hit the ball over 90m off the tee despite being born with no right hand and part of his arm missing.

He was born missing his right hand and part of his right arm but that doesn't stop him from cracking a golf ball.

At just 18 months, Tommy's parents noticed his interest in the sport when he would stand in front of the TV during golf tournaments and mimic golfer's swings.

"His true ability is to look and learn," Tommy's father, Joe, said. "I have given him very little instruction."

At bedtime, Tommy would take a set of golf clubs to bed with him instead of a teddy bear.

"One time he refused to go to bed, and [I] finally got him to go to sleep and he insisted on this club or that club," Joe said. "I put him down, and my wife and I heard him yelling, 'Mommy, Daddy, you forgot my putter.'"
