Golfer stunned as wind cheats him of eagle

The wild winds that have hit Augusta National have been making a mockery of the world's best golfers at the Masters.

But American Billy Horschel must have been left wondering what he had done to anger the weather gods when his ball was blown off the green and into the water on the 15th hole.

The world no.45 found the putting surface in two shots on the last of the par-five holes but paid the price when he failed to mark his ball.

Walking across the green after checking the line for his eagle putt, Horschel was stunned when a gust of wind sent his ball tumbling down the slope and into the pond.

The 29-year-old immediately called for a rules official only to be told that because he had not marked his ball, it was still considered live and counted as his second shot.

Horschel was forced to take a drop and an eagle chance quickly became a hot-under-the-collar boogie.
