Bayern Munich's Brazilian central defender Dante has agreed a move to rival Bundesliga club Wolfsburg, Bayern confirmed.

Dante will sign a three-year contract after a medical examination, Bayern said.

Sky Sport News HD reported Wolfsburg will also be signing Schalke's Julian Draxler, who has also been linked with a move to Juventus.

However Schalke said on Sunday a deal had not been reached.

Wolfsburg had reportedly been expected to enter the transfer market before the August 31 deadline amid the pending sale of Belgian Kevin de Bruyne to Manchester City for a reported fee of about 75 million euros ($117 million).

German media reports said Wolfsburg are paying 4.5 million euros for Dante.

The 31-year-old Brazilian joined Bayern from Borussia Moenchengladbach in July 2012.

In March last year he extended his contract with the German champions until June 2017.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said the club had agreed to the player's request to be released from his contract.

"Dante wanted the opportunity to play regularly and we didn't want to deny him this request," Rummenigge said.
