Scary scenes as Italian striker Moise Kean collapses during Serie A match, taken to hospital
There were scary scenes during an Italian Serie A match on Monday morning (AEDT) when Fiorentina striker Moise Kean collapsed on the pitch.
Kean had minutes earlier copped a stray knee to the face in a contest with Hellas Verona defender Pawel Dawidowicz.
He received treatment, but was allowed to return to the pitch. Moments later, teammates and rivals rushed to his side as Kean became unsteady on his feet and collapsed to the turf.

The Italian international was then stretchered from the field in a neck brace before being rushed to hospital.
"Fiorentina announces that ... Moise Kean, during the match against Verona, suffered a head trauma. [He] is in hospital for tests," the club said in a statement.
Kean is the second-top scorer in the league this season, with 15 goals. In his absence, Fiorentina would go on to lose 1-0 after Verona scored a late winner in the fifth minute of added time.

Kean is the second Fiorentina player to collapse on the pitch this season. Midfielder Edoardo Bove fell to the turf during a match against Inter Milan in December, which led to the abandonment of match.
Bove was placed in a medically induced coma, and then underwent successful surgery to have a defibrillator fitted to his heart.
