Herrington’s brother named as Socceroos make eight changes
The Socceroos have made eight changes to their squad for friendlies in the November international window.
Joe Gauci, Tom Glover, Gianni Stensness, Sam Klein, Daniel Arzani, Thomas Waddingham, Diesel Herrington and Kusini Yengi are the new faces, after not featuring in the squad for the friendlies against Brazil in September.

Herrington joins his brother Lucas after impressing early in the A-League season following his comeback from injury.
“For me, he’s the number one centre back in this league, comfortably,” his Central Coast Mariners coach John Hutchinson said after the club’s 1-1 draw against Melbourne Victory.
Herrington is one of seven possible debutants in the squad with Eli Adams, Kealey Adamson, Kasey Bos, Glover, Klein and Waddingham all joining him.
The Socceroos have an uncertain window ahead with question marks over whether they’ll play Jordan due to the security situation.
“Football Australia will continue to assess the security environment and will provide players with updates,” FA said in a statement.
The announcement of this squad had been delayed due to players relaying concerns over their safety. Indonesia had already pulled out of a friendly against Jordan.
The first match pits the Socceroos up against Qatar in Doha on November 14 (AEDT).
These matches were meant to be part of preparation for the Asian Cup, but that tournament has been rescheduled due to tensions in Saudi Arabia.
“While the AFC Asian Cup has been rescheduled, that does not take away from the importance of this window,” Socceroos manager Tony Popovic said.
“We have limited opportunities to be together as a group, so every camp and every game is important.
“We will have an eye on continuing to evolve the squad for the future, with our FIFA World Cup 2030 qualifying campaign and the AFC Asian Cup both now in the second half of 2027. This camp gives us another chance to work with new players and see how they fit into what we are building.”
