Lucas Herrington makes Premier League debut as Hull stun Man United
Kingston upon Hull: Australian Lucas Herrington is officially a Premier League player.
The defender made his debut as a 64th minute substitute on a brilliant day for Hull City with the side defeating Manchester United 2-0.

“It was such a privilege to be out there, especially in front of my mum and agent. Such a special moment for me,” he told Stan Sport post-match.
“... I was so happy to be given the trust by the coaching staff to go out there.”
United was marking another new era with another big off-season in the transfer market and Michael Carrick starting as permanent manager but couldn’t have started worse.
The first goal came in the 17th minute when Semi Ajayi scored after numerous shots in the box from Hull’s players.
Then in the 38th minute, a perfect inswinging free kick went into the box and found the head of new signing Nobel Mendy to send the home crowd wild.
Hull went into the sheds leading 2-0 before Carrick opted to bring Marcus Rashford into the fold for Patrick Dorgu.
Herrington then replaced Mendy and had the task of marking Rashford, to which he did with aplomb.
The 18-year-old kept his calm throughout his 30-minute stint to keep United quiet and help seal a 2-0 victory for the newly promoted Hull.
The win made it Hull’s first ever top-flight victory over United.
“I think they’ve been written off from the start of the season, but the performance they put in was absolutely outstanding,” Darren Bent said on the Premier League’s coverage.
“Defensively they got their blocks in, they got their body in, when the ball was there to be won in the air, they went and headed the ball ... and of course when the opportunity was there to but the ball in the back of the net, they did it.”
Hull’s supporters were full of voice outside the stadium, with many comments voiced towards Joe Cole.
“Joe Cole says what?,” was the common phrase used among some colourful language as well. “Are you watching, Joe Cole?” was sung among the fans too.

Cole had made a prediction in the lead up to the match on The Dressing Room podcast, saying “Hull are gone man” regarding relegation this season.
For now, the Tigers fans had the last laugh.
Former Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel said United “did absolutely nothing” with the ball despite owning possession but praised how difficult Hull made things for its rival.
