Why Ange knocked back job as Mourinho replacement, rumour mill in overdrive around Aussie gun for hire
Ange Postecoglou has reportedly declined the chance to take over the reins at leading Turkish club Fenerbahce as interest in the Australian manager continues to grow.
Fenerbahce are currently without a manager, having parted ways with the great Jose Mourinho after he failed to lead the team to Champions League qualification.
But Postecoglou will not be the man to step into the job in Istanbul, despite still being a free agent after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in May this year.

Turkish football journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglou reported Fenerbahce held talks with Postecoglou about the role but the Australian knocked it back.
Sabuncuoglou also revealed that Luciano Spalletti, who was dismissed from his duties with the Italian national team in June, was also spoken to but also rejected the chance.
While Spalletti reportedly was not ready to take on a new role so soon after his sacking, Postecoglou on the other hand declined the role in bid to pursue a different opportunity.

"Ange Postecoglou informed Fenerbahce that he was awaiting offers from several clubs in the top five leagues," Sabuncuoglu said.
Postecoglou had been linked to a move to the Major League Soccer with the Los Angeles FC earlier this year and has since been linked to Bayer Leverkusen.
The Bundesliga side recently parted ways with former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag following just three games in charge.
However, former Danish national team manager Kasper Hjulmand is widely expected to take over from ten Hag.
Despite an early exit from the Premier League, Postecoglou's time in the English top-flight may not be over as he has been floated as a contender to join Nottingham Forest.
A rift between Forest coach Nuno Espirito Santo and owner Evangelos Marinakis has led to speculation that he may move on.

The likes of West Ham and Manchester United are also potential landing sites for Postecoglou, given both managers are under immense pressure.
Still, the Premier League season is only three rounds old.
Postecoglou has also been rumoured to be on the radar of his former team Celtic after Scottish international Charlie Mulgrew revealed he had heard of a return to Celtic Park.

"I have heard people mention that if Brendan Rodgers leaves in the summer, that he might be somebody who would potentially come back," Mulgrew said on Glasgow's Go Radio.
"It's a bit up in the air. Fair play to him, he is a good manager. He did brilliantly at Celtic.
The signings that he made and the players that he brought in are still in the squad now. He was (a breath of fresh air). The likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alistair Johnston, Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda... they are still the spine of the team.
"He did a great job at Celtic. Really good attacking and exciting football."
