Football: Fornaroli gives foul-mouthed acceptance speech in FFA Cup

A cup final win is like no other feeling in football.

And you just have to listen to Melbourne City skipper’s Bruno Fornaroli acceptance speech after winning the FFA Cup to understand why.

The Uruguayan marksman bravely took centre stage on the victory dais to give a bizarre, foul-mouthed and oft hilarious speech after beating Sydney FC 1-0 at AAMI Park.

Battling through with broken English and the help of prepared cue cards, Fornaroli started by graciously honouring the vanquished foe.

But even that caused some consternation with Fornaroli turning to Argentine teammate Fernando Brandan for a little help.

His next round of honourees got a little lost in translation, or perhaps an in-club joke with Brandan laughing as he looked over Fornaroli’s shoulder.

But to his credit, Fornaroli got back on track by thanking the sponsors, the coaching staff, his teammates and, of course, the City faithful.

But as the crowd cheered in delight, Fornaroli had one last hurrah left in him.

“And f--- off!’ he cried throwing the cards into the air.
