Footballers refuse to stop play for ambulance

Turkish football fans were stunned when a regional match continued unabated despite an ambulance roaring across the field to assist an injured player.

Turkish Regional Amateur League rivals MKE Kirikkalespor and Nevsehir Spor Genclik were playing at Karabudak Stadium in the central region of Kirikkale when a player went down injured late in the match.

With the player needing urgent medical attention, an ambulance was called to urgently attend the scene.

But with neither side feeling enough sympathy for the injured player, the ambulance driver was left with no choice but to cut across the field as the players continued to battle it out.

The bizarre scene was greeted by whistles and waved hands from the crowd.
