Chievo winger suffers horrific leg break

Chievo winger Federico Mattiello suffered a horrific leg break during his side's 0-0 draw with Roma on Sunday.

The shocking injury occurred during the 19th minute of the Serie A clash, when the 19-year-old challenged for a loose ball with Roma midifelder Radja Nainggolan.

The sickening collision saw Mattiello fracture both his tibia and fibula and left his leg hanging at a worrying angle, with players from both sides looking visibly shaken as he received treatment on the pitch.

The match eventually resumed after a lengthy delay, with the 0-0 draw keeping Chievo six points clear of the relegation zone in Serie A, while title-chasing Roma remain in second place, eight points behind Juventus.
