Ballboy's jaw drops at the sight of Rooney

When it comes to one-eyed fans there's usually no question where the loyalties lie for mascots and team helpers.

But sometimes fame eclipses even the most ardent fan's ties, as was the case with a young Swansea City ballboy when he came face to face with England and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney.

The youngster was lined up in the tunnel ahead of his side's clash with the Red Devils when Rooney suddenly appeared beside him.

Clearly in awe, the wide-eyed boy turned and looked the United star up and down before his jaw literally dropped.

The endearing image of the youngster with his mouth gaping wide open was captured by television cameras before kick-off.

And while Swansea went on to deliver Rooney's side a shock 2-1 defeat, the memory of getting up close and personal with his hero surely proved the highlight of the night for the ballboy.
