Former Australian gymnast Declan Stacey will mix it up with some of the world's top divers at the FINA Diving Grand Prix on the Gold Coast after qualifying fourth for the platform final.

The 23-year-old, who won a gymnastics gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2011, will dive against current world record holder, Jian Yang, and fellow Chinese diver, Hao Yang, in Sunday's final.

But Jian, who has twice set the record for the highest point score for a single dive, could be vulnerable after being beaten by Hao in the semi-finals.

In the women's competition, 17-year-old Georgia Sheehan finished third in her 3m springboard semi-final, while Jayah Mathews posted 233.50 to finish third in her semi.

Both divers have qualified for Sunday's final.
